Who We Are
EUROPEAN CENTER FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
ECSR is an international association founded in 2008 at the level of the European Union territory and its aim is to implement the overall concept of triple bottom line (TBL or 3BL) within business community.
Over time, ECSR has expanded and developed programs in partnership with representatives from other countries on other continents, which has led to improved international relations and the implementation of several common goals related to sustainable development on the UN agenda.
Currently ECSR.world is involved in academic development activities in different areas of European, Asian, American, African contiments, having a good impact and result for the whole world.
The results of the work of ECSR.world are found in activities carried out by addressing sustainable development techniques, through programs designed and developed by our representatives around the world, in articles of law proposed at international level and implemented by our partner organizations, in the implementation of good practices at institutional level, by representing some causes of necessity identified locally or as a common need of certain categories of people, by implementing educational programs at a high academic level, in scientific research programs with applicability in the fields of stakeholders and by maintaining a healthy climate in accordance with the laws and regulations of application of human rights.
2020 was a year marked by the global SARS-CoV-2 pandemic that produced changes with effects in all sectors of activity around the world.
The goal of Paris Agreement, signed in 2016 within the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is to deal with greenhouse-gas-emissions and to limit the increase of global average temperature to 1.5 Celsius degrees, in order to reduce the risks and effects of climate change. However, in 2017, none of the major industrialized nations were implementing the policies they had envisioned and have not met their pledged emission reduction targets (Souce: doi:10.1038/548025a). Urgent measures of energy efficiency must be taken to compensate lack of responsibility.
ECSR encourage companies implement and commit to energy policies and to develop strategies for improving efficiency and reducing costs for new and existing facilities. Investing in clean renewable energies is a smart desiderate boosting both business and society.
ECSR projects stimulate research and innovation in energy efficiency. We organize planting trees teambuilding projects and carbon footprint awareness campaigns. We commit to our own energy policy and we guide our volunteers in minimizing the energy consumption impact.
Within ECSR.world we promote the development of activities in a safe and respectful environment for all participants, in which all people can express themselves freely and each contribution is valuable in its own way. We respect everyone’s ideas, qualities and contribution by freely exercising the skills or talent that everyone has.
As a result of these unique situations, ECSR.world focused on the actions that came in support of stopping the pandemic and the activities related to maintaining human health and the environment. Everyone can become a ECSR volunteer. The first thing you need is goodwill: every act is valuable.
